Founded in 1922 as a camp for children affected by tuberculosis, Camp Lookout now seeks to meet the emotional and physical needs of the county's youth. Children invited to attend Camp Lookout come from families who are low income and/or are faced with a variety of other challenges. Each summer we serve approximately six hundred children who would not otherwise be able to attend a summer camp experience. School nurses, Department of Social Services, other human service agencies, and churches help us to identify potential campers for a free, weeklong stay at camp. These children, and the dedicated, well-trained staff, make Madison County Children's Camp a truly special place.
